That this association, A-Cero Project Vitra Board received the order to adapt their space to make it more suitable for use in show room and exhibition hall. A-Cero Projects should work in a small area, however in keeping with the style of Vitra, the building had to be original, timeless and designed with an architecture based on the items to display, so that they appear with due prominence and can move or changed with ease and flexibility.
Vitra located in the fashionable district of Vitacura where there has been a vertical real estate boom, so the proposal should live with any buildings to be constructed. Respect the garden is five meters around the store, which isolates it enough to look at it without doing too distant than affordable. Here the image of cube 15 x 12 meters tall by 8 excels in comfort.
Internally, a central step integrates the two floors supported by a perforated wall of laminated wood, which forms the first floor reception, while the rail of the second. This creates the required surface completely free room without an over-design so common in this type of project. The work related to works of architecture and interior design projects are developed on the second floor taking advantage of the same organization systems VITRA furniture.
The showroom itself is composed of pillars and beams of 43 x 14 cms on plywood glued and bolted. The horizontal bracing a wall is independent and separate from the wooden structure with a metal inner frame diagonally, it joined with metal connectors, making them interdependent. The siding also has a double laminated pine board, has a rough finish, which is impregnated with a gray green color that reveals the aging of the wood. A-Cero Architects has selected pine as main material being a natural resource of the country, renewable, environmentally friendly and clean, which fits well with what we wanted to achieve quality, gracefulness and agility for construction in four months.
